Dental Implants

Missing teeth can make simple tasks like eating and talking difficult, impacting your quality of life.

Dental implants support restorations to replace your missing teeth, keep your jaw healthy, and give you a beautiful smile.

Dr. Rose and Dr. Alvarez in Ocoee, FL, can place implants to restore your oral function.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium screws that act as artificial tooth roots. Implants provide superior stability and support for restorations to replace your missing natural teeth.

When the jawbone loses the stimulation the tooth roots once provided, it begins to deteriorate. Implants provide that stimulation to stop and prevent jawbone atrophy to keep your jaw healthy.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

There are several factors your dentist will consider to determine if dental implants are the right restorative dentistry treatment for you. You may be a good candidate if you:
Smiling couple

Are in Good Oral Health

You must be free from oral health issues such as gum disease and tooth decay before implant placement. This ensures a healthy foundation for your dental implants and restoration. Our Ocoee dental practice offers a range of dental treatments to help improve candidacy.

Have Sufficient Jawbone

You must have sufficient jawbone tissue for your implants. Patients with extensive bone loss may require bone grafting or a sinus lift before they qualify for implant placement surgery.

Do Not Smoke

Tobacco use is bad for your oral health and can impact your body's ability to heal, increasing your risk of implant failure. To ensure the best possible chances of success, patients should quit using tobacco products for several months before and after their implant placement surgery.

Consultation

During your initial consultation with your dentist, she will examine your mouth and discuss your oral health history and goals to determine if implants are right for you.

Preparatory Treatment

If you need preparatory treatment such as tooth extractions, bone grafting, or periodontal treatment, this must be performed first. Our Ocoee dental practice offers comprehensive treatment options so you can get the care you need.

Implant Placement

Implant placement is an outpatient surgical procedure. Depending on your needs, IV sedation or local anesthesia can be used to ensure you are comfortable. A small incision is made in the gums before your titanium dental implant is placed in the jaw.

Healing

Your mouth is given time to heal and allow the implant to fuse to the jawbone in a process called osseointegration. Healing times vary, but it typically takes three to six months.

Abutment Placement

An abutment is placed on the implant. This piece connects your restoration to the dental implant.

Impressions

Impressions are taken of your mouth to craft your custom denture, crown, or bridge. We use digital technology, eliminating the need for messy putty impressions.

Restoration Placement

Once you are healed and your restoration is ready, your dentist will secure your crown, denture, or bridge directly to the implants. You are now ready to enjoy your beautifully restored smile.

How Long Will  My Implants Last?

/

Implants are durable and designed to last a lifetime, however, your restoration will wear over time and eventually need to be replaced. With proper care and maintenance, your custom crown, bridge, or denture can last 10 years or longer.

"I cannot say enough nice things about Master Dental & Orthodontics and literally everyone who works there. I am a very anxious dental patient and told them all about it before I ever stepped foot in the building, which they accommodated wonderfully by honoring my requests to not be left in the chair waiting for services to begin, needing comprehensive explanation of services before agreeing to anything, understanding billing clearly, etc...

I have been beyond impressed with their care and empathy and will never go anywhere else. This practice is amazing and highly recommended, ESPECIALLY if you’re anxious at the dentist like me. Thank you Dr. Alvarez, Paul, Yadi, and Christian for your outstanding service!"
